The Game of Thrones Guide to Grooming: Samwell Tarly

As riveting as HBO's "Game of Thrones" is, it isn't exactly glamorous. From the Haunted Forest to Castle Black, whether you're a lord in your manor or a wilding beyond the wall, it's a hardscrabble existence. These brutal times call for the most rugged and the most refined grooming supplies. That's why we'll be following along with the action and recommending solutions to those who need it most.

Today's Game of Thrones unsolicited upgrade advice goes to...

Samwell Tarly, Sworn Brother of the Night's Watch

The hefty, uncoordinated Sam may be lacking in courage on the battlefield, but it would appear he has no hang-ups about talking to an attractive young lady who catches his eye. When he spots Gilly traipsing through the snowy camp of Craster's Keep with a couple rabbits under her arms, he knows what he wants and he pursues, earning major points by shooing away Ghost, the dire wolf. Gilly even commends him for his bravery, which we're guessing no one has ever done before. It sure seems as though Gilly likes him back (though, to be fair, it would be hard not to at least feign interest in anyone who offered to help you escape from a lifetime of indentured servitude, incestuous polygamy, and the ritual sacrifices of your newborn sons). Being Gilly's only hope is definitely a good angle for Sam, but he could still use a little edge. "I can't steal her! She's a person, not a goat," he tells Jon Snow. No, Sam, you can't steal her, but you can steal her heart. Might we suggest a signature scent to seal the deal with the beautiful—and yes—desperate, Gilly? BVLGARI MAN Eau De Toilette is the obvious choice. Its notes of musk, white wood, and violet leaves exude a cool sophistication. He'll smell great even if he's lacking in courage.
