3 Ways to Wear Summer’s Bold Colors

Our community of Birchbloggers is a vibrant bunch of beauty-loving ladies from all corners of the blogosphere. This week, actress-turned-blogger Lisa Rosado shows us how to wear summer’s bold hues.

Summer has officially arrived and it’s finally time to start having some fun with your makeup! With lipsticks, liners, and shadows popping up in vibrant shades, it can be difficult to know exactly how to wear them. Luckily, the season’s bold colors are totally suitable for everyday wear. Here, we share a few tips in how you can incorporate the best of these megawatt hues into your daily looks:

Blue Eyes

Blue Ice

Make your eyes pop with a combination of icy blue and silver liners. Start by thinly lining the outer corners of your lash line and the outer half of your water line with stila’s smudge stick waterproof eye liner in turquoise, then use Cynthia Rowley Beauty Eyeliner in silver along the inner tear ducts. Finish with two coats of Benefit They're Real! Mascara and a nude like like stila lip glaze in shortcake to get a fresh, vibrant look that doesn’t take you too far out of your comfort zone.

Orange Eyes

Tangerine Dream

Give a classic nude eye a summer twist with gold, orange, and copper shadows. Not only are these shades on trend, but they compliment every complexion. To get this look, dust Coastal Scents Autumn Sun shadow on the inner half corner of your lid, followed by Miss Marigold on the outer half, then deepen the outer crease with New Terrain. For a sultry touch, lightly line your lower lashes with Medieval Gold. Next, create a winged liner effect using the new and innovative Benefit They're Real! Push-Up Liner and pump up your lashes with a couple of coats of Benefit They're Real! Mascara. Dab Dr. Lipps’ Original Nipple Balm onto your lips to enhance your natural lip color, or add a little tint with Pixi Beauty's super moisturizing Shea Butter Lip Balm in Pixi Pink or Coral Crush.

Bold Lips

Hot (Pink) Mama

In a time crunch, a bright lip can be your savior, and this season is all about fuchsia, radiant orchid, and clementine lips. When working with an eye-grabbing lip you can either keep your eye makeup extremely simple or you can add a subtle hint of color in the crease like this shimmery green shade from Coastal Scents atop a pastel all-over shadow. After creating your eye look, gently glide thebalm's multi-functional Mary-Loumanizer just above your cheek bones and along your brow bone. Pull the look together with a hot pink hue like Laura Geller's Dragonfruit Sorbet.
