Easy Spring Makeup Upgrades

Skin Perfect

Swap your foundation for a tinted moisturizer like Dior’s HydrAction Skin Tint, which seconds to smear on, provides even coverage, and won’t clog pores. DIY option: Create your own light base by mixing a few drops of foundation in your hand with a dab of oil-free moisturizer. Skip heavy powders, which can look cakey, and try a translucent one – Laura Mercier’s Loose Setting Powder is our favorite.

Get Glowy

We don’t know what we did before we discovered the magic of highlighters. Shimmer plays up our best features – wide-open eyes, high cheekbones, or even a prettily bowed lip. Invest in a versatile highlighter and start experimenting; try it on eyelids, browbones, cheekbones, but pick one at a time. Try The Balm’s Mary-Lou Manizer, which has a silky texture and subtle gleam or rms beauty™'s Living Luminizer for a glowy look without excessive shine or sparkle.

Punch it Up

We love neutrals as much as the next girl but it’s time to celebrate warmer climes by playing with hot violet or tangerine eye shadows — apply lightly for a sheer wash of color. Or swap our your basic black liner for one of the surprisingly understated colored eyeliners – play it safe with olive green, or go nuts with a bright cobalt.
