Power of Three: Lashing Out

This winter, forgo the heavy makeup in favor of a refreshingly clean look that places all the emphasis on your eyes. Consider it the beauty equivalent of a detox: instead of eyeliner and shadow, enlist an eye brightener to whisk away dark circles and a false fringe (hey, we didn’t say it was completely low-maintenance) to doll up your lashes. Finish with a generous dusting of blush to create a healthy just-in-from-the-cold look and all eyes will be on you.

Step 1: Benefit Ooh La Lift

There is nothing sexy about looking tired. If you’ve been strapped for sleep, it’s time to reach for an under-eye brightener. Benefit’s Ooh La Lift conceals dreary dark circles with a color-correcting, hydrating pink pigment that also contains light-reflecting particles. A couple dabs of this miracle formula and you’ll look refreshed and radiant.

Step 2: Faux Bianca Lashes

To get this kind of luscious fringe, you have to ditch the mascara and go straight for the falsies. When we want high-impact lashes, we rely on FAUX’s Bianca style, which adds fullness and length like nothing in a tube can. They’re easier to apply than you think (check out our step-by-step video tutorial here), and don’t need more than a couple minutes to put them on. The extra time is definitely well worth it—you’ll feel so movie star glamorous, you’ll never want to take them off.

Step 3: Jouer Peach Bouquet Powder Blush

Since the emphasis is on your eyes, keep any color on your face to a minimum. Finish the look with a healthy flush. One of our favorite oh-so-feminine shades is Jouer’s Peach Bouquet, a warm tawny tone that looks incredibly natural. Start by applying some color to the apple of your cheeks and then pull it back along your cheekbones. Be sure to blend the hue into your hairline for a soft effect.
