Survival Kit: Travel Edition

Three Birchbox staffers share their carry-on essentials

As proud Birchboxers, we know better than to rely on iffy hotel soaps and shampoos when we’re on the road. But the definition of “travel essential” varies widely from staffer to staffer. We polled three very diffeent types of travelers to find out which products they always pack in their carry-on.

BY TERRY Crème de Rose Nutri-Lift Comfort Cream. I love the scent, and the formula is so creamy that it helps my skin withstand an arid airplane cabin.

Clarisonic Classic Sonic Cleansing System. I never go on a trip without this cleansing brush. It removes dirt, desert dust, big city smog, or whatever you come across during your travels.

Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray. I used this grease-zapping styling spray in Tel Aviv when I had 15 minutes to go from desert dustball to wedding party perfection.

Comodynes Self-Tanning. Since I’m prone to sunburn, I use these portable self-tanning towelettes to get a nice glow without lying out in the sun.

Koh Gen Do Cleansing Water Cloths. These Japanese wipes take off makeup and dirt and keep my dry skin moisturized. Plus I love that they come in a little pouch.

YSL Touch Éclat. Whenever I have dark under eye circles, this magical concealer helps me look awake.

VMV Re-Everything Lotion. I'm a minimalist when it comes to traveling. Having one tube of lotion I can use from head to toe is definitely right up my alley.

Scalisi Skincare Anti-Aging Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30. I’ll splurge on good anti-aging skincare. This two-in-one moisturizer and sunscreen actually helps soften premature wrinkles and keeps new ones from popping up.

Melvita Roll-on Argan Oil. This is a great all-over moisturizer for both me and my 15-month-old daughter, which means I don't have to bring a million different products while I’m juggling her diaper bag and baby toys.

Ada Cosmetics Bronzer. I can wear this mineral bronzer day and night. The powder comes in a spill-proof jar, so I can carry it with me everywhere.

CleanWell Individual Hand Sanitizing Wipes. Keeping your hands clean is a must when you’re a mom. I use these all-natural wipes when I can’t get to a sink.

Supergoop! SPF 30+ Everyday UV Face & Body Moisturizing Sun Protection Lotion. This is my go-to sunscreen for beach vacations. I love that it’s non-greasy and small enough to meet pesky TSA regulations.
