I love this candle. As a seminary student, I'm often buried in my books well into the night. It has already become a small ritual for me to grab a cup of coffee, and light this candle in preparation to dig into whatever reading is at hand. I highly recommend this candle for long study sessions - the scent is subtle and masculine, strong enough to be enjoyable, but not overpowering. Perfect for setting the environment for whatever you want to concentrate on!
The candle has a great woodsy, masculine scent, but the scent is very weak. You really need to get your nose close to the flame to smell anything. It definitely will not fill a room, and, at this price, it's a splurge.
Although kind of pricey, the candle is really very nice. It has a unique subtle smell and lasts a long time. The glass votive it comes in is a nice color.
This candle smells so good. I really like it. I tried it day one and did not want to blow it out to add it to my travel bag. It has a light scent so you don't feel overwhelmed.
The candle has a lovely scent.
However, I have never been traveling and though, "I really wish I had brought a candle."
The Apolis Transit Issue Travel Candle smells great. Very masculine, and not an overpowering food smell, so the wife is happy. The container it comes in is nice and small and has a screw on cap.
Not sure I'd take it on a trip, though. I try to travel as light as possible, so even this relatively small item will take up space in my dopp or luggage. Plus, I don't trust TSA not to open it up, see I've lit it, and decide that it breaks some kind of rule. And then where will I be?
This candle has a wonderfully understated fragrance that doesn't dissipate through its life. I have been using it weekly as I travel (and at home) and it always brings a feeling of comfort to any hotel room.
While some reviewers noted that traveling with a candle seems unknown or strange, I've actually packed a small candle for all my trips over the past decade for a couple of reasons; it can bring a sense of home to a foreign hotel room, and second it can help hid/remove unwanted smells. In my recent trip to China, I packed this candle as I'd received it about a week before my trip. It perfectly helped remove the smell of the smoke from my hotel room. However, I did notice that the scent was somewhat hidden when I used it at home. Additionally, I agree that the price point for this candle seems high. I recommend the idea, but not necessarily this execution. Had it not been included in my November Birch Box, which was a nice surprise, I'm not sure I would purchase on my own.
I was surprised by the size of this sample! The smell is calming, and not overpowering. I use it when I travel to help set the mood closer to home, which aids in getting to sleep.
As I find the smell from the candle nice it takes a while for the aroma to be noticed in the house. Other candles I have burned have a stronger scent. I don't understand why I would travel with a candle other then to pray but it looks great on the coffee table.
