In 1996, husband-and-wife duo Gary Shinner and Jill Portman opened an unassuming teahouse on San Francisco’s Fillmore Street. Word got out, and the success of their enterprise led them to create their own brand of specialty teas. Nowadays, Mighty Leaf’s passion for steeping runs so deep that they oversee every step of the creation process, from selecting the perfect soil for their organic tea leaves to sourcing the best biodegradable materials for their hand-stitched tea pouches.
