Birchbox Breakdown

More than just a handsome bureau-top accessory, a shoehorn is a necessary tool for proper care of your footwear. From lace-ups to loafers, you’ll find yourself using this every day—and saving the heels of your shoes in the process.

How it Works

Shoehorns are designed to ease your foot into a shoe without damaging the shoe’s “counter”—the back of the shoe that wraps around your foot and supports your heel. Without a horn, guys tend to jam their feet in, which in turn damages not just the counter, but eventually the entire shoe’s structure. Damage leads to discomfort for the wearer, so adding this extra step to your routine will save you both time and money.

How to Use

Place the blade of the shoehorn against the counter of one shoe. Insert the tip of your foot into the front of the shoe and push down with your heel on the blade of the shoehorn. Remove. Repeat.

Great

Probably one of the best items I have ever received. I have never had a nice shoehorn. This one is great. The leather cover is awesome.

Substantial Shoehorn

I was really excited to receive this shoehorn. I had been getting by with an old plastic one. This leather one is just 100X classier and way cooler looking than my old one.

Nice shoehorn

I don't even own any dress shoes - I typically wear casual shoes or cowboy boots - so I gave it to a friend who is always wearing dress shoes. He was very happy with it and said that it was more comfortable to use than the plain metal one he was using before.

A Shoehorn?! Its 2013!!

I never thought I needed a shoehorn. I just though a ragged thumb and jamming my foot into dress shoes was what everyone did. This shoehorn is a life saver! Its way easier to put on my favorite pair of shoes and I thoroughly enjoy the throwback feeling of using a shoehorn.

Old school elegance

This this is awesome. I'm actually young enough that this was in my box and I didn't know what it was until I read the description. I keep this next to my dress shoes and always use it now; really helps and I'm glad to preserve the heels of my shoes (and my fingers).

Yes, you need this!!

What's not to love, Birchbox? I am notorious for slipping my shoes on haphazardly. This shoehorn makes me want to try more structured shoes! I love the feel of it in my hand. Definitely buying some as gifts

Surprisingly great product

I really like this shoehorn. I have never really used one and didn't think much of it when I received it. But now I use it whenever I put my shoes on and I totally get it.

Great Shoehorn

Solid construction, which makes it thick. This can sometimes be a little tricky for tighter fitting shoes. Still, all around a good product that looks good in the closet.

Love the size

Somehow I never manage to hang onto shoehorns when I do acquire them, but this one is great. I like the size of it, and it's a lot more comfortable than the metal or plastic versions. It makes getting into the dress shoes without stretching them a much easier process.

Standard shoehorn, unneeded leather

This is a basic shoehorn, but it is somewhat inconveniently wrapped in leather. While this makes it look nice, it cause my socks to stick to it. Basically they get bunched up at the back of my shoes, because of the leather. I have a metal shoe horn that works better because of the lack of leather.
