    Great Grooming Moments in Film: The Big Lebowski

    We’re pretty big film buffs at Birchbox Man. And, of course, grooming is our bread and butter. This dual geekery drives us to comb through crates of old film reels and hours of commercial-packed TBS to find and pay homage to the legendary shavers and shampooers of the silver screen. Here we examine the ultimate serenity bath, courtesy of the cult classic“The Big Lebowski.”

    The Scene

    The Dude, a simple man with a passion for bowling and weed, has been confused with a millionaire of the same name. And that’s a problem for the Dude. The “big” Lebowski’s trophy wife reportedly owes money all over town, and in a case of mistaken identity, the Dude receives a visit from some goons. They rough him up, and pee on his rug…and that rug really tied the room together, did it not? Alas, that’s not the end of The Dude’s troubles. In this clip, a different set of thugs interrupts his attempt to relax.

    The Fix

    If The Dude teaches us anything here, it’s the importance of staying clean and calm—even when hit men come for you with a marmot and cricket bat in tow. Let’s be honest: there’s a good chance The Dude finished his bath.
