This is a great idea and one I applaud. The presentation is well thought out. My only issue is that this sort of product can be easily dated. We all know that attractions, businesses, and restaurants come and go in big cities, and there lies the problem. I still keep it on my coffee table because it's a good conversation starter and always interesting to look at.
Great little guide, i keep in my backpack, never know when it might come in handy! All this great info in on place!
I thought it was pretty detailed and hit some of the better spots that most people or tourists arent aware of.
My travel guide is for LA. I got it in a Birchbox. Sure, travel guides seem pretty obsolete with the internet. But this provides some unique information. Could help get you excited and plan for an upcoming trip.
Yeah I love guide books but this was a disapointment. First of all its supposed to be stuff that you cant find on the internet but I totally disagree. And how long will it be until its outdated? It should be an app that can always be updated if anything. Still cool idea though!
Searching for stuff on phones takes too long when you're wandering city streets, and in a big City like New York or San Francisco it might actually make you a target, because I didn't see many(or any) people using their phones in the Bay Area. This is discreet and can be easily stashed in a jacket or bag pocket and isn't huge like those travel guides you see in bookstores.
It tells you where to go and gives you advice on what to do once you get there, but if you're looking for an itinerary that tells you what to do, this isn't it. This guide assumes you're going to explore.
I like it, I hope they make more for more cities. One complaint is the fact the guide is opens up like a horizontal map; I wish it was more of a small book .
I got the NYC guide (hoping for LA haha) and it was an interesting read and I will visit a few places when I visit but all in all this makes a great addition to my coffee table, not my travel essentials.
LUXE Guide LA is really cool guide to the city of good night life, restaurants, and social spots. Cool idea and cool product.
This guide bills itself as sort of a more refined tool that will tell you things you can't find on Google, but for the NYC version at least, I didn't exactly find that to be the case. Nothing earth-shattering here, and even if there was, the format and the way the information is organized makes it very user-unfriendly. The time for this product was about 20 years ago, and even then it could have been better organized.
i don't get it: what's the value here? if you want trendy then by the time these are published the trend has changed. i guess if you want small then this fits the bill. otherwise, the range of what's covered is too limited.
