If you really want to get geeky about your ice, boil filtered water—twice—and then cool before freezing to get crystal clear, air bubble-free spheres.
Four rules that will get you as close to ice nirvana as possible, without your own commercial-grade Clinebell.
The Original Whiskey Ball
Availability: In stock
There’s a reason the best bartenders use oversize ice cubes—and it’s not just because a giant block of ice looks really cool. The lower the surface area, the slower the ice melts, thus keeping your favorite drink colder (and purer) longer. In other words, with this set of spherical silicone molds, your go-to smoky Laphroaig has finally met its match.
Each pack contains two jumbo molds that create a pair of ice balls measuring 2.5” in diameter. The silicone material—dishwasher safe and BPA-free—allows for easy transfer from mold to glass.
Invented by scotch drinkers and intended for chilling single malts, the whiskey balls can also be used to cool other cocktails, as well as nonalcoholic beverages like coffee and tea.

awesome product idea but i found that the balls melt fast in your drink also a tip for them freezing fast is to use hot water
Wasn't very impressed. I tried all of the recommended ways to freeze and still found the ice cracked on most occasions.
I gifted my dad the gift of Birchbox and also added these whisky balls in the mix as he is a fan of whiskey.
Says he liked how they took a long time to melt so his drink didnt get watered down or destroyed" by the water but kept his wonderful beverage to a very enjoyable temperature.
