Avène
History
It all started in the South of France. For centuries, people flocked to the village of Avène to bathe in its remarkably pure thermal springs, which were famed for healing a variety of skin diseases. In 1966, laboratory owner Pierre Fabre opened the Avène Hydrotherapy Center to transfer the soothing powers of the thermal springs to modern dermatological treatments. A line of skincare products followed in 1989. To this day, Avène continues to use the mineral-rich, pH-balanced spring water in all its products.
