History

A clumsy cook was the inspiration behind this world-famous brand. As a newlywed back in the 1920’s, Josephine Dickson was prone to burning and cutting her fingers while preparing dinner for her family. Tired of wrapping her individual wounds, she sought the help of her concerned husband Earle, a cotton buyer for Johnson & Johnson. He hit upon the idea of creating ready-to-use bandages by setting cotton gauze squares along a sticky strip. Earle shared his invention at work, and BAND-AID® Brand was born.

Philosophy

Stay prepared for life’s little emergencies. From waterproof sport strips to mini squares, BAND-AID® Brand is known for making a bandage for every kind of minor wound, burn, and scrape.

Birchbox Extra

BAND-AID® Brand suggests that you treat each wound with a three-step process: cleanse it with mild soap and water, treat it with an antibacterial gel, and protect it with a bandage until it’s completely healed.
