History

In 2008, friends Jen Gotch and Jamie Coulter began making fanciful hair accessories for themselves and their friends. When their designs caught on, the Los Angeles-based duo launched ban.do and began selling their creations online. In addition to their signature hair accessories, they also make corsages, shoe clips, and even a bridal line — all with a whimsical, vintage-inspired feel.

Philosophy

A little sparkle never hurt anyone. The ban.do philosophy is that you should wear your (preferably sequined) heart on your shoes, your cardigan — even in your hair. Their creations are both feminine and witty and range from the look-at-me oversized flower brooches to subtle silk satin headbands. Their Black Label line features one-of-a-kind designs made from gorgeous vintage materials.
