History

BODUM® was founded in Denmark in 1944 by owner Jørgen Bodum’s father, Peter, toward the end of World War II. While that might seem like a less than ideal time to start a company, BODUM®’s eye-catching and affordable French press coffeemaker was an instant hit. Since then, the company’s wares have expanded to include everything you need for a well-stocked and stylish kitchen, from handy electrical appliances to slick barbeque grills.

Philosophy

Jørgen Bodum’s original mantra: “Good design doesn’t have to be expensive.” The company has maintained that philosophy by creating stylish pieces that look pricey—but in reality are well within reach.
