History

As a child, Queens native Lisa Kunizaki would spend every summer visiting her family in Southern Japan. When she grew up, she jumped at the opportunity to import her childhood favorite sugars from Japan to the United States. Chambre de Sucre sells hand-crafted sugars that are made by one of the country’s oldest family-owned businesses (they’ve provided the Japanese royal family in Japan with their sugar since the shogun era). All of the products, from the rainbow sugar crystals to gorgeous flower-topped sugar cubes, are an embodiment of the Japanese attention to detail.
