History
You have Diane Ranger to thank for the mineral makeup craze. The founder of Bare Escentuals, Ranger invented mineral makeup when she was 27 as a way to ensure that she was only putting healthy ingredients on her skin. Her latest venture, colorescience pro®, takes minerals to the next level. She created a line of mineral-based products that would address a range of skin needs and concerns, from anti-aging primers and powder sunscreens to mineral-based foundations and eye shadows.
Philosophy
Healthy makeup is the best makeup. Ranger developed a list of the seven most harmful skincare ingredients — mineral oil, talc, alcohol, emulsifiers, dyes, carcinogens, and perfumes — and vowed to develop all of her products without them.
