History

In 1967, aesthetician Elisabeth Sigmund teamed up with Dr. Rudolf Hauschka, an Austrian-born chemist known for creating a water-based rose petal extract that remained stable without artificial preservatives. Dr. Hauschka Skin Care was born, and rose extracts remain an essential part of the skincare and cosmetics line to this day. Designed to nurture and heal, each product is made with soothing botanicals that optimize skin health. Dr. Hauschka launched in the U.S. in 2008 and has quickly amassed a loyal following.

Philosophy

Holistic and natural are the name of the game. Dr. Hauschka sources its skin-rejuvenating plant extracts from its own biodynamic gardens, as well as local farms throughout the world. Every ingredient plays a role in helping skin renew itself, retain moisture, and protect against environmental damage. And it’s not just about the skincare — the brand’s makeup line features just as many good-for-you ingredients.

Birchbox Extra

True to its origins, Dr. Hauschka is committed to fair trade practices and never uses animal testing in its products.
