Izola launched in 2007 to transform the shower curtain from a washed-up bathroom staple to a limitless canvas featuring everything from Keith Haring art to subway maps. Two years later, design consultancy Aesthetic Movement helped the company expand its line to include playfully masculine objects for work, grooming, and leisure. Each object, be it a martini shaker or soap dish, is the perfect marriage of nostalgia and quality craftsmanship.
Exceptional everyday objects. Izola infuses all its products with elements of the past, from images of antiquity to the idea of making something “built to last.” These details can be as whimsical as old world illustrations of animals on a handkerchief or as functional as a ball chain to string a flask funnel around a liquor bottle.
Izola’s blog gives insight to the company’s retro inspiration. You’ll find its founders paying tribute to the Jamaican woman who gave the company (and the first flask it made) its name, as well as vintage photos of idols and idyllic landscapes.
