Birchbox Breakdown

We loved actress Alicia Silverstone the moment we saw her in The Crush, but we’ve grown to admire her even more as an eco-health guru. Together with Juice Beauty, Silverstone created this versatile all-over highlighter, which is made with organic shea butter and other all-natural, yummy ingredients. The peachy pink shade enlivens all complexions.

How it Works

No artificial dyes or preservatives here. A base of organic shea butter and coconut oil soothes and softens skin, while the pretty pink hue comes courtesy of natural minerals. Meanwhile, organic passion flower, acai berry, goji berry, and champagne grape seed extracts infuse skin with antioxidants.

How to Use

Wear as a cream blush by swiping on the apples of your cheeks before blending. Apply a tiny bit to brow bones, the tip of your chin, and your cheekbones for a subtle flush.
Organic oils of helianthus annuus (organic sunflower oil)*, cocos nucifera (organic coconut oil)*, sesamum indicum (organic sesame seed oil)*, ricinus communis (organic castor seed oil)*, glycine soja (organic soybean oil)*, hydrogenated glyceryl abietate, euphorbia cerifera (candelilla wax), copernicia cerifera (carnauba wax), caprylic/ capric triglyceride, butyrospermum parkii (organic shea butter)*, manihot esculenta (organic tapioca)*, zea mays (organic corn)*, rosa canina (organic rosehip fruit oil)*, passiflora incarnata (organic passion flower oil)*, vitis vinifera (organic champagne grape seed oil)*, rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary oil), euterpe oleracea (organic acai berry)*, lycium chinense (organic goji berry)*, tocopherol (Vitamin E). great color

i use this to add some color in place of or under my blush and it stays. i have fair skin and this paired with the gloss is the perfect shade. i can see where it would be universally flattering

Pick me up

I really like this highlighter. If you are expecting it to be blush, it isn't. It is much more subtle. But it is perfect for days when I don't feel like doing a full make up routine. This and a little eyeliner makes me feel and look perky and glowy, but minimal. The texture is a little strange at first (probably the shea butter makes it a little moist) but that sticky feel goes away quickly.

Facial Highlighter....not so much

I bought the full size lipstick and facial highlighter last month because I loved the idea of the all-natural and organic ingredients. While I love the lipstick, the facial highlighter leaves a little to be desired. It is a little sticky and just blah. I will continue to use it and just put a little blush on over it. The packaging is very nice.

ehhh product

This product is alright. My skin coloring is light but it still doesn't show up too much. And also when applied it tends to rub some of my face makeup off. Doesn't give off too much of a shimmer either. It works for the time being but I do not believe that I would purchase this product again. It also smells a bit like play-dough which is odd.

More like blush

I really liked the idea of this product and the fact that it is Alicia Silverstone's and eco-friendly. The color looks pretty on the stick but is too light for my skin tone, which is actually fairly light so I was surprised. I still have to use my normal powder blush to get a subtle rosiness/glow. I was also hoping that it actually had some sort of shimmer to it that would highlight my brow bones, but it doesn't so the name was a bit misleading for me.

It also rubs my foundation and powder off when I put it on with fingers or apply directly because its sort of stiff and sticky(?) - like the feeling after you apply moisturizer to your hands and its kind of weird slick/sticky. Since I bought it I will continue to test it out occasionally, especially during other seasons when I can get away with less products or have less natural coloring from sun - maybe its a spring time thing.
