History

Not every woman would have the courage to embark on a lengthy journey through the Moroccan desert, but in 2007 Katharine L’Heureux did just that. Along the way, L’Heureux discovered that Moroccan women used only one thing to combat the drying effects of the hot sun: organic argan oil. L’Heureux found this multi-purpose moisturizer so magical that she embarked on a series of trips back to Morocco. There, she encountered the communities of Berber women who refined raw argan nuts into oil using time-honored techniques. L’Heureux saw her chance to give back to these women by starting Kahina™ Giving Beauty, a company driven by fair trade and sustainable principles.

Philosophy

Connecting women across borders through universal beauty practices. Made with high concentrations of rare Moroccan argan oil, Kahina™ products soften and protect skin and hair. They also serve a nobler social purpose. Kahina™ donates a portion of all profits to nonprofit organizations dedicated to bettering the lives of Berber women, and all their artisans work under ethical conditions.
