History

Kelly Van Gogh is a stylist with a scientist’s background. After working part-time in a salon as a teenager, Van Gogh studied chemistry at Columbia University, where she cooked up her own hair color formulas in the school’s lab. Her mission was ambitious: to create a line of at-home dyes and color-enhancing products that would actually be better than their professional salon counterparts. After graduation, Van Gogh teamed up with a group of fellow chemists to perfect her formulas. They hit hair care gold when they discovered caviar oil, a remarkable ingredient with reparative powers when applied to hair. Celebrities got wind of the newly launched products, and the brand soon gained cult status.
