History

As a teen, Susan Gregg Koger visited countless thrift stores looking to score sweet vintage duds. Whenever a piece caught her eye, she couldn’t resist taking it home—even if it wasn’t exactly her size. Koger soon accumulated an overflowing collection of one-of-a-kind clothing, which she took with her when she started college at Carnegie Mellon. One fateful night in her freshman year, she met her boyfriend (and future husband) Eric Koger. Together, the enterprising duo set up an online shop to sell the pieces Susan couldn’t wear. Their inventory moved from their dorm room to a house that doubled as an office to a series of warehouses. To meet their customers’ growing demand for retro styles, they started selling new, vintage-inspired pieces in all sizes. Now ModCloth is our go-to source for everything cute, floral, ruched, flouncy…you get the idea.
