The Amazon rainforest is famous for its natural treasures, and restorative rahua oil (pronounced rah-wah) is no exception. For centuries, women from the Quechua-Shuar tribes have attributed their thick, shiny hair to the potent oil, which they prepare by hand. In the 1990s, they shared their formula with New York stylist and colorist Fabian Lliguin, a native Ecuadorian of Quechua descent, and Rahua hair care was born.
rahua is committed to maintaining an earth-friendly, sustainable business partnership with Amazonian peoples such as Waorani, Achuar, Quichua, Quechua, and Shuar. The rahua oil used in their products is sourced and processed by local men and women according to centures-old traditional methods.
While other botanical oil molecules are too large to penetrate strands—they simply coat the outside—the rahua oil molecule is tiny enough get inside the hair shaft and repair and smooth from within.
Rahua Shampoo and Conditioner use organic and 100% natural ingredients such as quinoa and coconut and shea butters to cleanse and restore strands. The gentle, chemical-free formulas are ideal for color-treated hair.
