I bought this wand hoping it would be a quick easy tool to get the tousled beach look year round. The curls looked great when I did it, but they did not hold well in my hair. I'm not sure if it was me or the tool, but I think you could probably find something very similar at a lower price point. The automated turn off feature is really nice though.
Curls don't last
This iron gets super hot (I burnt my finger) so make sure you wear the gloves! I liked the curls but they were gone in a couple of hours! For reference I have thick wavy hair, so if you have fine hair this might work for you.
Perhaps with Longer Hair
I think the reason this curling iron doesn't work for me is due to my thick hair that's just past my shoulders.
I can tell it makes a nice curl, but when I'm done curing, it ends up looking more messy/beachy than curly. Thinking it will work great when my hair is a little longer.
in love with this wand! just got it so ive only been able to use it once but so far so great! i have long thick hair and i think this is going to perfect for it! so excited to use it more often!
This thing is amazing
I have very straight, fine hair, but a lot of it. Since childhood, I have struggled to have bouncy pretty waves. I've tried hot rollers, velcro rollers, curling irons, round brushes...etc. No matter how much hairspray and torture I used, my hair would invariably end up straight again...until this curling iron! It gives me lovely waves, doesn't take a ton of time, and they STAY IN. Definitely would recommend.
No clamp marks!
A great tool, I love it so much more than your traditional curler. I don't bother using the glove it came with, but it's certainly handy.
Sedu gives me smooth, bouncy curls and volume
This machine is truly special. I have fine hair, but a lot of it. Easily damaged, I let my hair airdry then smooth it out with a nourishing spritz of treatment and a curling iron - now this Sedu iron. It is the BEST curling iron I've ever used, creating smooth, bouncy curls and volume. LOVE!
If you want a clipless iron, here you go
If you were like me and wanted to "try out" a clipless iron, meh - do it with something cheaper. It was nice but I've had irons that get just as hot and offer the same features for less. I wish you received two gloves, the one I received was all torn up.
The only thing that gets my hair to curl
Okay, maybe not the only thing. Sleeping in curlers will give me hideous Shirley Temple curls. GHD's flat iron made my hair look pretty, but fell almost immediately. Hot steam curlers give a nice, loose curl, but those take at least 40 minutes all together. With Sedu's iron I'm done in 10 minutes.
And the curls LAST. As long as my hair is completely dry when I curl it, I can get them to last overnight. If it's at all damp, the curls fall - but even then, they last a good 4-6 hours. In contrast, the most I could get out of normal curling iron and a bucketload of hairspray is 2 hours (and crunchy hair).
I have very fine, long hair. But I've also done it for a friend who has long very thick hair - and who also said that she could never get her hair to hold a curl. Hers held from 6pm, through a very fun bachelorette party, and was still curly the next morning.
This thing is awesome. And totally worth it.
This changed my life!
My hair has NEVER held a curl. Not when I was younger and not now. No matter how much hair spray or professional styling could keep my hair curled. This clipless iron was all I had hoped and dreamed for! I can get long loose curls on WEEKDAY MORNINGS even!! It takes about 20 mins for me to curl my hair which is fine but long. I wouldn't trade this thing for the world.
