History

Forget retouching! Smashbox is your key to looking photo-shoot flawless every day. It all began when brothers Dean and Davis Factor—great-grandsons of makeup legend Max Factor—created Smashbox Studios in 1990. With a slew of world-class talent passing through the photo studios daily, the two were often asked to develop makeup that met the demanding needs of a shoot. So they combined talents—Dean, a business guru, and Davis, a top celebrity/fashion photographer—to launch Smashbox Cosmetics in 1996. If this iconic collection is good enough for the A-list, it’s certainly on our list of frontrunners.

Philosophy
