A lifelong product junkie, Maureen Kelly had an awakening when her search for glamourous makeup made with pure—not artificial—ingredients came up empty. So, she did what any go-getter New Yorker would do: hunkered down in her tiny apartment and started formulating her own products. Since launching in 2000, tarte has become known for its high-performance natural™ formulas, vibrant colors, eco-chic packaging and charitable initiatives. Philosophy

Makeup should help, not harm. All tarte products are made with powerful actives like Amazonian clay, pure maracuja oil, and tarte’s antioxidant-rich t5 super fruit complex™. On the flip side, they never contain potentially harmful ingredients like parabens or artificial fragrances.
