History

This tool-conscious brand began when two families became neighbors in San Francisco in the mid-eighties. They lived one block apart, and their children went to pre-school together. They spent so much time together that one day makeup-lover and mom Diane collaborated with engineer and neighbor Malcolm to patent the innovative design of a brush guard for makeup brushes. On-set makeup artists and women everywhere continue to respond with increased demand.

Philosophy

Better protection for makeup brushes. We’re all guilty of not washing or protecting our brushes enough. By stepping up our maintenance game, we can avoid germs and prevent damage to our cosmetic tools for longer-lasting results.

Birchbox Extra

The Brush Guard’s packaging is completed by developmentally disabled adults in search of opportunities to be more independent, like the members of vocational-services organization Community Gatepath.
