Weleda
History
Founded in 1921 by philosopher Dr. Rudolf Steiner and Dr. Ita Wegman, Weleda was based on the idea that our bodies are built to take care of themselves, but that they can use a little help from products made with the right ingredients. The company began cultivating biodynamic gardens decades before it became a locavore buzz word, and designed a line of thoughtful products based on all natural ingredients.
Philosophy
Give your body a boost with natural, nourishing ingredients. All of Weleda’s products, from skincare to toothpaste, are designed to support our own natural healing processes. They still grow the majority of their ingredients (over 300 different types of plants) themselves in biodynamic gardens across Europe, South America, and New Zealand.

All Weleda products are 100 percent natural and carry a battery of certifications from organizations such as NaTrue, an international non-profit devoted to natural and organic cosmetics, and the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics.
