Deborah Lippmann

Birchbox Breakdown

Deborah Lippmann’s got the beat with her Staccato Collection, a group of ice cream-inspired, glitter-flecked nail polish shades. Rockin’ Robin, a summery blue-green polish speckled with black glitter, will rock your fingertips all day long—and have you craving a dish of mint chip. Two scoops, please!

How it Works

This polish may look delicate, but it contains biotin, green tea, and aucoumea resin extract to keep nails strong. Black glitter adds punch to the sweet pastel base.

How to Use

Prep nails with a base coat, then add two thin layers of polish to build color and evenly distribute glitter. Finish with a top coat.

gorgeous and unique
Purchased

This polish is absolutely gorgeous. Unique and interesting, but not too loud. Looks just like a robin's egg. Highly recommend.

Coverage & color not what I'd hoped

The 'mint chip' in the BB description describes this polish much better than the name. It needs about 3 coats for opacity, by which point there are way too many flecks. And the creme base is a pale green rather than light turquoise -- much less saturated color than the photo suggests.

It can be used for a great robin's egg effect by layering one or two coats over a turquoise base coat. However, a light turquoise creme and a black or brown mini glitter would accomplish the same effect and open up other possibilities.

Love it

This was worth the price absolutely. Only took two coats and it stayed on nicely. Taking the polish off wasn't as difficult as I thought; it peeled right off. Oh and it's beautiful. Got so many compliments.

Fun Pretty Nails

I have been eyeing this polish for a while and finally coughed up the money to get it. It took about 3 coats to cover evenly and is really pretty! The polish is on the thin side but I think it has to be so that you can see the glitter through the layers. The only thing I am disappointed about is that it is already chipping after one day. I didn't put a base coat but did use a quick drying polymer top coat.

Pricey but nice

This polish is a little on the pricey side. I normally purchase OPI but loved the color so I splurged for this one. While I love the color I was not pleased with the durability of the polish. It tends to chip easily.

Meh

I bought this from the photo and thought it would be a bit thicker. It's runs a little thinner than I would have liked. Still a cute idea and I plan on wearing it in the Spring.

Love the color!

I love the color of this polish. The only negatives are the price and that it's pretty difficult to remove. The glitter pieces aren't easily removed with polish remover.

Worth it

The price is worth it for the quality of this glitter polish. It goes on so evenly and smoothly, it is incomparable to others.

Really fun summer color

I love this color. It really is reminiscent of mint chocolate chip ice cream. So fun for the summertime! I applied basecoat, then two coats of color, and a fast-dry topcoat and I was good to go without any chipping for 5 days! As with any glitter polish, it took some patience and some extra acetone remover to remove all traces of it.

Love It / Hate It

The color is absolutely amazing... lots of compliments. However, it's practically impossible to get off and I ended up with little black dots all over my hands that refused to come off! Resorted to putting it on my toes so I can still enjoy the color, but don't get all spotty because I'm leaving it there until it grows out and off! LOL
