Paying $10 for two unknown samples is not a great deal. It is a better deal when it is free with a $35+ purchase. I got a hand cream and a Ruffian nail polish in my pack. The Ruffian nail polish was nice except (1) I already received the same bottle and same color in one of my boxes (2) the bottle leaked and made a huge mess inside the bag. Otherwise, they are nice samples.
I received Ruffian's Fox Hunt nail polish and Voesh Green Tea Pedicure scrub. I love the color of Fox Hunt; it's bright and perfect for fall. I have yet to use the pedi scrub but hoping for good things!
I've received two sample packs so far, and they are very hit or miss, but then again, they were free!
I like these as free gifts with purchase. I can't really say I'd spend the $10 to buy them as you don't get to pick them and for $10 you might as well subscribe to the box and get even more samples. But for free it's a nice surprise with my purchased goods!
It was so exciting to grab more fun samples for free with my order! I received a serum and a lip gloss.
The perfume sample contained in this box was a great surprise smelled great and enjoyed it. The other sample was a facial cream that I have yet to try as I have extremely sensitive skin and have to be very careful what I apply to it.
This last Mystery Sample pack I received appeared to be used. It included a full sized Cailyn Cosmetics Gel Eyeliner except that it was missing the ink gel pot and the brush had been dipped in black eyeliner and dried out. I also received a sample of The Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel. The container was okay except the tiny box it came in had some smudged pink lipstick on one corner. I emailed customer service and they sent me a replacement sample pack. I got a full size ModelCo lipstick in Dusk Till Dawn and a Tan Towel Self-Tan Towelette packette. The lipstick is not a flattering color for me (too warm/brown) and I'm not thrilled about the Towelette. I'm giving the lipstick away as a gift. It's good this was free.
I received a perfume sample and a hair mask foil packet. I'm glad I got it for free because if added it on for $10 I would be sorely disappointed. I'm not sure why a perfume sample that is in one of those small vials is "deluxe."
There were two small items in my Mystery Sample Pack. I am so glad I did not pay $10 for it, but got it free, or I would be upset. Not very impressed.
If I had actually paid $10 for this, I would have asked for a refund. I ordered 2 full sized items (great products from one of my previous Birchboxes). These items were not cheap - totaling over $100. When I visited the "Bonus Shop" page to see if there were any bonuses available to go with my purchases, I chose the Mystery Sample Pack, because the description painted an attractive picture - stating that I would get a "standard sample" and a "deluxe sample".
When I received my order only a few days later, I excitedly checked the box to see what "bonus" items had been included in my Mystery Sample Pack. Well... I received a foil packet of self tanner (not even enough to cover both legs) and a TINY container of face scrub (when I say TINY, I mean only enough for one use).
Which sample was "deluxe" and which was "standard"? These are the sorts of samples that I would get from a magazine tear out card, not samples that would in any way, shape or form be worth $10. Even counting it as a freebie, I felt disappointed that I "wasted" my bonus choice on this selection.
Again - if I'd actually paid $10 for this (which is the price listed), I would have returned it.
