This at-home highlighting kit lets you get pricey-looking highlights for a fraction of the cost. The gel lightener allows you see your color change before your eyes, and you can halt the highlighting process once you’ve found your perfect hue by misting the included tonic onto hair. The gentle formula doesn’t contain any harsh bleach and works best for blondes, redheads, and those with light to medium brown hair.

How it Works

Each kit has everything you need to get gorgeous, multidimensional highlights that are a shade or two lighter than your natural hue. There’s a tube of patented Keratin Enriched Mica Shine Gel Lightening System™, a packet of booster powder, a bottle of developer, and a petite bottle of Wonderlust Tonic. It also has a full range of tools: there’s a pro highlighting wand, two reusable hair clips, a mixing spatula, a reusable bowl, a pair of reusable black gloves, plus easy-to-follow instructions.

How to Use

First, put on the gloves. Next, mix the gel lightener, developer, and booster in the bowl with the spatula. Paint a few highlights onto hair with the wand, using the hair clips to work with hair section by section. Once you’re satisfied with your hue, mist the tonic over hair. Wait for hair to dry before washing and styling.

On the fence, but great concept & user friendly.

I gave this product four stars because it is so user friendly. I was able to touch up my own highlights without making an appointment with my salon and I saved about $60. However, the process was time-consuming to get the highlight touch ups I would normally get from my salon, and the formula is so user friendly and fool-proof that it was almost too suttle of a highlight for my liking. I would purchase again, but I wish the product gave a little more color. I left the product on the strands for well over 30 minutes and fully saturated the hair to be highlighted as the instructions say.
