We’ve always been borderline obsessed with shimmery shadows, but these gorgeous pigments have transformed us into sworn fanatics. The loose powders let you create a range of looks, from subtle washes of color to dramatic liner effects. Light and buildable, the Luminous Shimmer shadows include Glow, a rich gold; Paris, a sandy brown laced with tiny sparkles; and Navy, a spot-on deep blue. If you’re looking for bolder pigments, check out the Pearluster Shadows. Camel is a golden brown with caramel undertones, while Prosecco is a light beige with the faintest splash of pink. Zen is a deep grey that recalls a tranquil reflecting pool. Bonus: both mineral formulas are incredibly pure.
How it Works
Many so-called mineral makeup products contain bismuth oxychloride, a pore-clogging additive, along with a host of iffy preservatives and dyes. Unlike them, these shadows are only made with skin-safe ingredients like mica, titanium dioxide, and iron oxides, so you can wear it day in and day out without worrying.
How to Use
With the lid closed, shake the jar slightly to release a dose of pigment. Open the lid, and use a dry shadow brush to sweep the shadow all over your lids. Alternately, use a damp liner brush to apply the shadow along your lash line, extending past the outer corners of your eyes for a winged look.
