After applying dry shampoo onto your roots, work a small amount of the Meta Form Sculpting Pomade through the ends of your strands to add shine.

Birchbox Breakdown

In a perfect world, we'd have time to shampoo our strands more than once a week. (We’d also sleep eight hours a night and hit the gym instead of the snooze button.) But for all those occasions when life intervenes, this revitalizing dry shampoo is our secret weapon. The powdery formula revives second-day strands and beyond, absorbing excess oil to provide instant lift.

How it Works

Perfect for all hair colors and textures, the lightweight formula combines strengthening Moroccan cedar extract with amplifying cornstarch for a fresh, volumized finish with no heavy powder residue.

How to Use

For best results, use on not-so-fresh, slightly dirty hair. Shake the can and hold about 10 inches away from your head. Spray a small amount (seriously, a little goes a long way) on your roots, focusing on your crown, sides, and part. Let it sit for a minute to soak up any oil, then massage the powdery formula into your scalp. Brush through and style as usual. Note: If you accidentally spray on too much product, set your blow dryer to a low temperature and use a round brush to blend the dry shampoo into your strands.

Eh -- too much white
Purchased

I loved this when I got it as a sample, so I ordered the full size -- for the most part, I like that it sort of thickens my hair and thus makes it look less greasy, but I hate the feel (I already have thick hair and lots of it) and I find that protect much harder to get rid of the white powder look. I have since found products that don't leave the write residue, so I think I'll stick with those from down on.

Saves my morning!

I have long, curly hair. Daily washing makes it dry. On my non-washing days, I spray a little of this across my hair and it looks like it's newly clean. LOVE IT!

Every busy girl needs a good dry shampoo. The Meta Revive absorbs excess oil, adds volume , and makes hair easily to style. Paired with the dry conditioner, these products leave second (or third day) hair smelling amazing

I only use this if I am really desperate. I don't feel that it removes the oily feel to my hair. It can leave hear a little sticky. It is good for volume though. You will definitely have to wash your hair the next day.

Ehhh

Good: Smells amazing.
Bad: Doesn't de-grease my hair, instead just makes it feel weird and clumpy.
I use this as more of a "hair refresher" when I've been around smoke or something else weird, just a little bit on my hands to get the stank out, because if I use it as a dry shampoo it just makes my hair feel terrible.

Smelled good but didn't do the trick

The positive is: This dry shampoo smells really good. My husband complimented me every time I used it. The negative: It gave my hair a sticky, starchy texture without absorbing oil.

I owe this stuff an apology

It seems like there's no way to edit my original review, so I'm just writing a new one. When I first got this in my box, I didn't know a lot about dry shampoo. I used it, and it seemed way too heavy and stiff. Now I know more about dry shampoo, and I really love it. It has a pretty steep learning curve, but I love it. You just have to know how to use it properly: hold the can about 10" away form your roots and spray VERY LIGHTLY. Seriously, use as little as possible. A very little bit goes a very long way. I wish the can was designed to spray a lighter stream. Work in sections. After you have finished spraying, wait two minutes for it to dry. It may look a bit white, but don't worry. After two minutes have passed, hit all the areas you sprayed with the shampoo with a hair dryer set on high, and use your fingers to work the product into the roots of your hair, then brush through your hair.
I use it right after I have washed and dried my hair, and it keeps my hair clean for two days. It also gives extra body and lift to my hair, which I like because I have very fine hair, and it can look pretty flat sometimes. One star off because it's a bit difficult to use, and I wish they had designed the can so that the product came out in a finer stream when you spray it.

Worst Dry Shampoo I've Ever Tried

I'm so glad I was given a sample of this before I ever had the chance to contemplate buying it, because it was junk. I've tried about a dozen different dry shampoos and I don't think I paid more than $21 for any of them. So, being priced at $25 was a strike against this product before I even tried it. When I actually did use it "unimpressed" would be an understatement. I sprayed a section with about the same amount I have applied with other dry shampoos and I couldn't tell the difference. I had to spray A LOT for it to be effective and because of that, you could tell it was in my hair because my hair is dark brown. I ended up having to wash my hair. I gave it to my sister to try and she didn't like it either.

I would definitely recommend other dry shampoos, like Klorane's Gentle Dry Shampoo ($20), amika's Perk Up Dry Shampoo ($21), or even Bastiste's Dry Shampoo ($8), which comes in different shades.
