Birchbox Breakdown

All that glitters is not gold—but in this case, gold is only the half of it. These polish duos pair sparkling gold foil with bright, springy colors, the perfect ingredients for a warm weather mani. The on-trend colors come in an easy-to-use applicator, making nail designs simple to sketch on. With all that you’ll save by skipping the salon, you’re more or less sitting on a gold mine.

How it Works

This all-in-one tube has everything you need for a fashion-forward nail look: two polishes, each with a pen applicator for precise color placement. What’s more, each color is free of DBP, formaldehyde, toluene, and other toxins.

How to Use

Coat nails in the solid color, and let dry. Then go for the gold: Layer on polka dots, chevrons, half moons, or any other design you’d like. Add a top coat to finish.

Love this color teal!

I really liked how smoothly this polish went on my nails. And the teal is just adorable! The gold flecks look just like gold leaf, it's quite pretty! Love this stuff!

This is just not what I expected. From the name "nail pen" I thought the applicator would be somehow different from normal nail polish, but it's not. It's a little longer thanks to the other bottle of polish screwed on the end but it didn't make doing my nails any easier (I'm terrible at it). It took about three coats of the pink for full coverage, took forever to dry, and peeled off after a few days. The gold flecks are a little too big and they don't look quite right unless you get really lucky and they lay down evenly for you. Not worth the price, for sure. After trying Ruffian, I'm sticking with them.
