great at contoling oil throughout the day. I used to have such oily skin by mid morning but this keeps it at bay

While this product does have a gelatinous texture, it goes on smoothly and does what it claims. There are some other similar products that work just as well, but at a considerably higher price tag. Great deal for the price.

Absolutely great. I would highly recommend this to any one I know. It controls excess oil. I will definitely purchase again.

When I received this gel in my box, I was actually in the market for a mattifying gel, so it was perfect timing. After sampling the gel, I bought it before the sample could run out. However, I seem to have liked the sample more than the actual product. First, I did not like the packaging the product came in. I felt that the gel would dry-up in the large easily-air-permeable container. And it did. After 3-4 months the gel was pretty dried up and I had to take off the black top to scoop some of the product up. I also felt the drying-out affected the effectiveness of the gel- it didn't seem to stop the shine like it did at first. Unfortunately, I ended up tossing it before I used it all.

I have very oily skin. Literally an hour after applying powder I'll be back to a shiny mess if I'm not wearing PTR mattifying gel.

The directions say you can apply it under or over your makeup. When I first received it, I would always apply it under my makeup and it didn't really do anything. Then I started applying it over my makeup and what a difference! Now I don't leave the house without it on!

Maybe if your skin isn't as oily as mine this product will work okay if you put it under your makeup - but if that isn't working, don't give it, just try it over your makeup. Made a dramatic difference for me!

This product is absolutely amazing! I cannot rave about it enough! I have very oily skin and it gets even worse after using a moisturizer. However, this product works magic! I apply my facial moisturizer, then apply the anit-shine gel, and then start putting on my mineral makeup. My skin looks smooth, flawless and best of all, not shiny! It is a weird consistency, but if you rub it between two fingers for a second it smooths out and is very easy to apply. Also, a little goes a long way so the bottle will last a long time! If you have oily skin, this is a must have in your makeup bag.

Finally a product that helps with my oily forehead! I have been searching everywhere I am so glad I bought this! On the weekends I work 10 hours a day and this product really helps control the oil on my t-zone! The only downside to this product is that when I first saw it I was really disappointed in the size. I mean it is SUPER tiny for what it costs. But so far this really does work!

I have used this product for years on my t-zone and love it! It's wonderful for making shiny skin matte and keeping it that way for hours. I use it under my makeup and it usually lasts all day.

I've bought maybe half a dozen full-size products on Birchbox since starting my subscription a little less than a year ago, and this product is hands-down the best of the bunch. I have very oily skin, and by the time I get home from work, no matter what I've done to my makeup, I'm shiny and gross. When I use this product under my makeup, I stay matte longer. What makes it doubly awesome is, if by early evening I'm shiny but don't want to wash my face and reapply my makeup for going out, I can put this over my existing makeup. It absorbs the oil and doesn't ruin the makeup I have one. This product does everything it promises. Hugely recommended.

This stuff is great! I can avoid foundation when I use it. A little goes a long way. I just wish the full size came in a tube like the sample instead of a bottle.
