I have colored my hair for years and it tends to run a little on the dry side. Split ends have also been a problem for me. A little bit of this stuff goes a long way to smooth out my ends and add some much needed shine. The only thing I'm not crazy about is the scent.

If I could only have one styling product for the rest of my life, I would choose this oil. I have relaxed hair and this gets the job done in spades. I never want to be without it again.

Let me start by saying that I have short blond hair. I wanted a way to make my locks look sleek, so I decided to try the Shu Uemura Protective Oil. The first time I used it, I put two pumps on - big mistake for my slightly oily hair as it made my hair look shiny, but greasy. The next time I only used half of a pump and I was happy with the results. Helps calm frizz, definitely makes hair shiny and I love the smell. Seems like it will last a long time, so good for the price.

This product is great for African American/Black hair that is not greasy and minimizes breakage. I'm in the transition stage and my hair is extremely but with a dime size of this oil, my hair was shiny and not shedding as much. I recommend this for anyone transitioning or with medium to extremely dry hair.

Absolutely love this product. My hair is much more healthier since I have been using it and I flat iron at least once a week. All you need is a few drops and it works! Shiny, healthy hair and the fragrance is a plus!!!

I put two pumps of this product on wet/damp hair every day from half way to ends. This keeps my hair smooth and frizz free and I think it dries more quickly. If I then blow dry, at the end I put about a half of a pump along any fly aways. Amazing results with the grease or looking flat. It works but is somehow lightweight. I rub the remainder into my hands to keep them and my cuticles smooth. I LOVE this and it is so worth the $.

This is so soft and soaks in well. I used it after I had styled my hair to put a little shine throughout and on the ends. I also used to re-style my dry hair on days I didn't wash my hair.

This product was pretty good. It smelled wonderful and made my African-American relaxed hair very shiny and soft. However, it definitely "nourishes" -- and that's about it. My hair was thirsty for real moisture about 2 days after applying.

as a woman over 40, my hair is starting to thin -- just a little bit. But I want to grow it out long. Those split ends and thin tips were the bane of my coif's existence. So, I latched on to a glimmer of hope offered up in the form of a review, and ordered a bottle. I was NOT disappointed. My process is to apply a Kerastase product before I blow dry. Then, I add one pump of this oil, rub it between my palms and apply to only the tips, which seem to DRINK it in. Using a curling iron or flat iron seals the oil into the hair with its heat. Lovely shiny locks!

I'm currently alternating between a few different restoring oils with heat-protecting properties and this is by far my favorite. it's a bit more expensive than alternatives I'm using but also comes in a larger bottle. I have oily hair so have to be careful with what products I chose for my hair and this I can put on in the morning (on either damp or dry hair - or both!) and it won't make my hair oily by the end of the day (or as some others have, immediately). This smells great and is very multi-purpose. My new go-to hair product!
