Birchbox Breakdown

What goes on must come off. And when it comes to removing our makeup, we want the process to be as quick and painless as possible. This Brooklyn brand’s organic makeup remover removes the day’s buildup in a flash, and is mild enough for even sensitive skin. It also works as a moisturizing face oil, which means we can simply rub in the remainder—pretty sweet, right?

How it Works

This lightweight makeup remover is made with just three ingredients: organic sweet almond oil, organic extra-virgin olive oil, and nourishing jojoba oil. It removes every bit of makeup sans burning eyes or greasy residue.

How to Use

Shake well and apply with a cotton ball. Wipe away excess or gently massage into skin using your fingertips.

Wish I could love it

I really like a lot of the products this brand carries, I have tried each and everyone, but this doesn't work for me. I wear contacts and glasses, so if my contacts are in it blurs my vision, if my glasses are on my lashes tend to hold onto some of the oils and then gets on my lenses. It would work well as a facial oil, but my skin is oily and even though I know oil on oily skin is supposed to be a good comb, my pores cannot handle it.

Love SW Basics

I am in love with the makeup remover, which is fairly new. I wasn't a huge makeup fan until recently and a coworker gave me some store bought oil/water science experiment looking stuff. Every time I used it, my eyes would get tons of makeup gunk in them, they would burn, and I felt like I had a nasty residue on my face. This stuff, since it is only comprised of three oils, doesn't burn my eyes. I've found it takes makeup off easily and I use a Q-tip with some of this on it to remove my eyeliner and mascara like a charm. When I'm done, I lightly clean my face and then rub in the oil as a moisturizer.

Seriously?

Is this a makeup remover or is it a salad dressing? It certainly smells just like something I would put on a salad. When I put it on my face to remove makeup, I feel foolish. Who in their right mind would purchase this product when one could simply use olive oil instead? Do not buy this product. Save your money and if you like dressing on your face, use what you already have in your kitchen cabinets. It is definitely not a cosmetic but more of a condiment. Seriously.

Great for Some Makeup - Not tough mascara

This is not the makeup remover for mascara. however it's great for lipstick, eyeshadow, eyeliner and other types of makeup.

I often will use a "tough" remover for eyeliner, and follow up with this under the eyes as i feel that it has to be easier on the delicate skin area on my undereyes.

It's a supplemental remover.

Nice oil but not really a make-up remover

I received this product in an unmarked bottle with no instructions. It looks like it should have had a label. The oil is a nice medium weight and has a very nice light natural scent. I tried using it as a make-up remover and noticed that it doesn't remove make-up as well as I would like. I do like it as a facial oil, especially during the dry Winter months. I will keep it and use it for extra moisture on my face and neck. Not sure if I will buy it again.

Natural, quick remover

This product smells just like a fine olive oil and works very well. It doubles as moisturizer which is nice. It leaves a bit more product around my eyes, which tends to rub down extra mascara as I sleep. So I'm not sure if I need to use less product or wipe more throughly with a cotton ball after application. Can also make my eyes a little fuzzy if it seeps in the corners. Oil + contact lenses = not the best combo. I think with a little more application/removal practice, I'll love it more. Can't beat natural products. Good for the environment, good for your face!

Gentle and lightly fragranced.....

The makeup remover has a very light frangrance which was a nice surprise. Quickly removed my jet black mascara and very red lipstick but left behind a nice moisturizer. The glass bottle did make me nervous since I tend to drop things in my bathroom, but so far so good. Will definitely encourage my friends to try it.

Great for Eye Makeup removal

I love this product for removing makeup from my eyes- it does a thorough job in a small amount of time, As for the rest of my face though, its a little thick and oily to use. Love it s eye makeup remover though.

It Works! And makes my skin feel good!

This makeup remover does work. For the price I thought the amount in the bottle was perfect. Remember, this is three different types of oils. When used my makeup comes right off. After use there is enough of the makeup remover left on my face that I rub it into some dry spots and around my eyes.

I would have given it five stars but the packaging mine arrived in was not as advertised in the picture and it left me wondering what I had received. I had to make sure it was what I purchased.

Hated it

I really dont like it for removing eye makeup such as eyeliner and mascara. Yes it works for face makeup but I use olive oil sometimes to help remove facial makeup which this product is essentially its three oils "blended" together but it smells heavily like olive oil
