He is a bourbon connoisseur and dislikes ice in his drink, but also likes cold bourbon. He stores his fancy schmancy bourbons in a glass case that he is just so proud of (and I'd love to move to a more hidden locale in the apartment), thus they are not refrigerated. I thought this would be an excellent gift, but he's not a fan. They are pretty heavy (as stone tends to be), and fly forward when tipping the glass back. Even doing so slowly does not prevent getting splashed in the face and generally it feels like the glass is going to break when they crash into the side. We have some pretty darn thick glasses, so I don't imagine that will happen, but they sit in the freezer unused since their first venture into beverages. I'll be thinking of other uses for them though!
