When my shipment arrived, I immediately realized that the brush guards are 4" pieces of braided nylon cable sleeving. I can buy a 25 ft. spool of sleeving for about $20 and cut it into pieces with a hot knife that I own for crafting purposes. So while these are a really great idea and I would recommend using them to anyone, they're a bit overpriced for the cost of the raw materials that go into making them. (But alas, such is the reality of retail, no?) But now I know what I'm making all of my girlfriends for Christmas this year...
I got these several months ago in a box and never used them. I finally decided to try them out and I love them. It really protects the brushes and keeps all of the hairs together...really nice little gadget to have!
These brush guards are amazing. They keep your make up brushes clean and do not pick up any extra bacteria. I found that right after cleaning my brushes It helps to place the cover on and let it dry so it keeps its shape.
Pair this with the Benjabelle brush tree and that's the best set-up I've seen for cleaning brushes. Price is great and they really do their job. Just make sure to only pull them one direction and if you pull too far, just pull off and start again.
This brush protectors keep the brush bristles together after you wash them after using them with makeup. I like to wash them each time so it also helps to let me know to grab a dry brush when my other ones are still drying.
I really like the idea of arranging makeup brushes using these "nets." It's good for travel and clean. I like them a lot!
Some of my brushes I was able to keep in the plastic sleeves they come in, but many others were naked and tossed around my makeup bag. Now with the guards, they can hold their shape as well as keeps the makeup to them selves til I clean them off. I do enjoy the sizes, but a large brush set and small brush set would also be handy.
I bought these guards to go with the set. Don't have much use for many of them, as the set comes with plenty. Wish there was one for my poofy powder brush, even the biggest was too small. Good idea in theory but somewhat unnecessary.
Work great as a substitute for a bulky brush roll when traveling and for keeping brushes upside down for drying after a wash. Highly recommend
These are handy to have around, and I'm sure very nice for traveling, but I found that they stretch out easily and lose their tightness and thus effectiveness pretty quick. I also don't like that the top is just open; it seems like it would still let a lot of dirt and dust onto the brushes.
