Atelier Cologne

Birchbox Breakdown

Infused with notes of grapefruit and black pepper, this unisex blend is so distinguished we think it deserves a Michelin star (or two). Designed by Atelier Cologne’s fragrance expert Jérome Epinette, Mistral Patchouli uses fresh fruity and floral notes to transform a base of musky Indonesian patchouli. Equal parts zesty and earthy, the enticing result is totally addictive. Think of it as molecular perfumery.

How it Works

Top notes of ripe grapefruit blend with black pepper for an opening burst of zesty freshness. The fragrance unfolds to reveal heart notes of star anise, geranium, iris, and smoky incense. Rounding out the scent are woodsy base notes of rich and earthy Indonesian patchouli.

How to Use

Remove the leather-bound top and spritz onto pulse points: wrists, elbows, neck.

alcohol denat. (sd alcohol 39-c), parfum (fragrance), aqua (water), limonene, linalool, citronellol, alpha isomethyl ionone, citral, benzyl benzoate, geraniol, farnesol.

Surprising

I was expecting a heavy/hippy vibe from the title but the scent is light with a lot of bright citrus on top and then settles into a great earthy/slightly sweet patch at the bottom. Wife loves it. My favorite Atelier so far.

Not for me

I wasn't a huge fan of the scent especially for the price.

Similar to a popular fragrance

I think this smells like a mix of Old Spice and Patchouli fragrance. Overall, it's a pretty light fragrance that can make the transition into fall well. Great for September.

Open seas

The description had all the right makings of what I though to be my next cologne. I imagined a unique scent that brought together the open seas and a classy touch. Like a naval captain at a formal dinner party with the president. Unfortunately, when I put this on all I could smell was bug repellant. To bad it didn't keep the mosquitoes away!

Not impressived

For the shocking price tag it doesn't really impress. I've had other samples that are cheaper but have a much more unique and pleasant aroma.

Scent wasn't what I liked

Another cologne sample. My girlfriend didn't like the scent and neither did I really. It's going in the trash.

weird smell

Smells like medicine! Just very artificial and weird smell. I hated it

Soft and Subtle

This fragrance has a soft, flowery scent. It is very understated. In my opinion, the scent is not very masculine, but some may find it sophisticated. I prefer stronger, sportier scents.

Great summer scent

Mix of ocean and grapefruit make this one of my favorites - not too sweet like some can be
