I want to sign up for a subscription! Are there any extra fees?

Nope! Your Birchbox subscription won’t have any shipping or handling fees—just the $10/month, $110/year for the Beauty Box and $20/month, $100/6-months for BirchboxMan. If your shipping address is in a state in which we operate, sales tax will be applied to your order.

I just signed up! What should I do next?

Be sure to fill out your Profile so we can learn more about you and what you’re looking to discover. Your Order Confirmation will have an estimated ship date so you’ll know to keep an eye out for your first box. While you wait, check out our Shop, which is stocked with our products so you’ll have an idea of what’s in store!

How can I customize my boxes?

Your monthly boxes will be tailored to the preferences in your Profile. You’ll also be able to add full-size products onto your boxes and participate in Sample Choice, which allows you to choose one of the samples in your next box.

If I change my mind, can I cancel?

Monthly Rebillable Subscriptions can be canceled at any time. Yearly Rebillable Subscriptions can only be canceled within the first month, but subscribers may opt out of auto-renewal at any time.

Can I shop with Birchbox even if I don’t subscribe?

Please do! Our Shop is constantly updated with new products, including exclusive brands, Limited Edition boxes, and so much more. You’ll earn Birchbox Points every time you shop with us, too!

Is Birchbox available outside the US?

Yes! Birchbox is now available in France, Spain, and the UK. Birchbox subscriptions are non-transferable across markets.

What is the Birchbox Aces Program, and how do I get in?

Birchbox Aces is our VIP Program, which offers awesome perks like free shipping, exclusive access to launches and offers, anniversary offers and so much more. Your 400th Birchbox Point* is your ticket in, and to keep your spot, you just need to earn 400 Birchbox Points per calendar year.

*Birchbox Points earned for purchases and friend referrals will count toward your Aces eligibility.

Billing & Payment

When can I expect to be billed for my subscription?

If you subscribe on a monthly basis, you’ll pay for your first box when you place the order. Starting with your second box, you’ll be on a regular monthly billing and shipping cycle.

When you subscribe on a yearly basis, you’ll pay for your full subscription up-front and won’t see any monthly charges. Once your year is almost up, we’ll check in and see if you’d like to opt out of auto-renewal.

What forms of payment can I use?

We accept VISA, Mastercard, Discover or American Express credit cards, or debit cards as payment for rebillable subscription orders. Unfortunately, we’re not able to accept checks, money orders, gift cards, or PayPal, or link routing numbers to your account.

Please note, Birchbox Points cannot be applied as a form of payment toward monthly and/or yearly rebillable subscriptions.

You’ll be billed as soon as your order is placed. From there, we’ll be in touch with tracking information as soon as your products are on the way!


What is your promotion code policy?

One promotional code can be applied to each order.


Where does Birchbox ship?

Birchbox subscriptions currently ship to United States. You may experience longer delivery times when shipping to Hawaii, Alaska, and Puerto Rico. For international purchases, we operate as Birchbox France, Birchbox Spain, and Birchbox UK. Birchbox subscriptions are non-transferable across markets.

Sadly, we are unable to ship subscriptions to APO, FPO and DPO addresses, however we are able to ship full-size products orders to these types of addresses.

Shop orders containing Hazardous Materials can only be shipped to addresses within the Continental US and cannot be shipped to Alaska, Hawaii, US territories, or APO/FPO/DPO addresses.

Do I have to sign for my Birchbox delivery?

Subscription boxes are ground-shipped via our shipping partner before they’re handed off to USPS for final delivery. This means you’ll receive your Birchbox in your mailbox each month.

Shop orders are delivered by USPS or UPS.

What are my shipping options?

You’re able to choose from four shipping speeds when you place an order:

  • Standard Shipping - $5.00 (5-10 Business Days)
  • UPS Ground - $7.00 (1-5 Business Days)
  • UPS 2nd Day Air - $15.00 (2 Business Days)
  • UPS Next Day Air - $22.00 (Next Business Day)

Orders totaling $50+ automatically qualify for free standard shipping.

PS: If you're a subscriber, orders will always ship free if they include a product you've sampled in your boxes. Get the details here.

Please note, expedited shipping is only available for addresses within the contiguous United States. Orders containing (but not limited to) nail polish, perfume, and aerosols must ship ground. Addresses to which standard shipping is the fastest option are ineligible for expedited shipping.

Shipping methods for monthly boxes and gift subscriptions cannot be modified.

I just placed an order! When will it ship?

Shop orders will ship within 1 business day of being placed for all in-stock items. Subscriptions will ship within 10 business days. We’ll email your tracking info over as soon as we have it!

Will my Birchboxes fit in my mailbox?

Yes! Birchboxes measure 7.75" x 6" x 2.5". BirchboxMan boxes measure 8" x 5.5" x 2.5". Full-size shipments will vary in size.

Return Policy

I’m having second thoughts. Can I return my order?

The short answer: yes! You’ll have 90 days to return products you order. Get the details here.

Can I return my Birchboxes?

Birchboxes are nonrefundable and are ineligible for returns.


I want to send Birchbox as a gift. What’s the best way to do that?

We offer Gift Subscriptions for this very purpose! You can send 3, 6 or 12 month Birchbox Gift Subscriptions and 3 or 6 month BirchboxMan subscriptions. Start gifting here.

How do gift subscriptions work?

Your recipient’s first box will be an introduction to Birchbox, packed with our tried-and-true favorites. From there, they’ll take the lead and customize the rest! If they love it (we’re sure they will!), you can extend their gift— or they can purchase their own subscription— to keep the boxes coming.

How far in advance can I order a gift subscription?

Gift subscription orders can be placed up to three months in advance.

Get a monthly box of five personalized beauty samples.
Get a monthly box of personalized grooming samples, plus a stylish accessory.
