After years of fiddling with ingredients to mimic the delicious and energizing "yak-butter tea" he drank in Tibet, cloud computing entrepreneur Dave Asprey hit upon a coffee recipe that gave him the same kick. That recipe is relatively simple: Take your usual cup of coffee, add a tablespoon of unsalted grass-fed butter, plus a tablespoon of coconut oil, and put it in a blender.
But why add butter to coffee? Early adopters (including Jimmy Fallon) say they get an incredible kickstart to their day, and feel less hungry into the afternoon. According to acolytes, this 460-calorie breakfast replacement even boosts cognitive function.
We haven't tried it yet over at Birchbox Man HQ, but we're planning to blend some up the next time we catch a rough case of the Mondays. Have you tried 'Bulletproof' coffee? Would you? Tell us in the comments below.
