Our favorite fantasy epic, Game of Thrones, comes back on March 31st, so get your ducks and dragon eggs in a row (or your Cadbury Cremes, as it falls on the same day as Easter) with your HBO GO account so you can catch every episode of the third season. Check the trailer here. If you need to get caught up, we refer you our very own Game of Thrones Guide to Grooming, where you'll find recaps plus short treatises on everything from Jon Snow's Night Watch hair and skincare essentials to Gendry the blacksmith's grime and soot removal regimen. Oh, and don't forget about March Madness, starting on the 19th. Fill out a free bracket with us here.
Our theme for March is “Go the Distance,” so it’s only fitting that we’ve been enjoying Run!: 26.2 Stories of Blisters and Bliss, the latest from ultramarathon legend Dean Karnazes. The book chronicles the runner’s many adventures around the world, including his attempt to run 50 marathons in 50 days—a feat he accomplished, we might add.
French music producer Kavinsky grew up immersed in the films of the 1980s, and his signature blend of electro-pop is an homage to the accompanying soundtracks. His new album, OutRun, features 13 catchy tunes that will up the ante on your next party or gym session.
One of our favorite websites, Bureau of Trade, is back after a quick redesign and better than ever. The site scours the web’s marketplaces for the best hard-to-find stuff out there (everything from vintage watches to classic cars) and compiles it in one place for easy perusing. For the more tech-savvy, the new site Grand St. showcases the coolest new gadgets that have been tested in-house and approved. Though they’re currently in beta, you can request an invite to join on their homepage.
The premise for the new app JustBecause is simple: You pay $1 and a friend of yours gets anywhere from $10 to $100 to spend at a variety of great sites like Uber, Warby Parker, and, ahem, Birchbox. We might be a tiny bit biased, but when was the last time a dollar went that far?
While getting a haircut is one of life’s simple pleasures—the shampoo and rinse, the banter, the hot towel—finding time in your schedule can be tough at times. For the in-between phase, we asked NYC stylist Jeff Chastain to show us some at-home tricks for keeping things tidy. Check out the video here.
