Which Ojon Hair Oil is Right For You?

Just as dry, damaged skin calls for targeted treatment (think: aloe vera for sunburns and olive oil for rough patches), so does brittle, heat-battered hair. No one knows this better than Ojon. In its Rare Blend line, the brand harnesses the power of healing oils from around the world to repair dry, damaged strands with a nourishing dose of naturally reparative proteins and antioxidants. To help you figure out which one of the three oils is right for your hair type, we asked staffers to test them out and report back. Here’s what they had to say:

Kate, Birchbox Man Copywriter

Hair Type: Fine yet dry curls
The Oil Rx: Ojon rare blend™ oil Rejuvenating Therapy, a blend of Tahitian monoi and jasmine oils for lightweight conditioning.
The Verdict: “I'm normally wary of anything called oil, as it usually translates to ‘grease,’” says Kate. After warming up a few drops between her palms and applying it to the ends of her dry, end-of-day hair, she noticed “a smooth, non-greasy shine and even a bit of volume!” Kate followed up the next morning by applying a bit to her damp hair, “which air-dried with a little more body and softness than usual.”

Melissa, Women’s Content Intern

Hair Type: Thick waves with oily roots and super dry ends
The Oil Rx: Ojon rare blend™ oil Moisture Therapy, which strengthens dry, brittle ends with Ojon and coconut oils, and smooths frizz with a dose of Mexican aloe vera.
The Verdict: “I didn't have to use more than a couple drops on the ends of my dry hair for it to instantly get rid of frizz and make them softer and shinier,” says Melissa. Though she’s partial to air-drying her long, color-treated hair, this oil is also great for protecting dry hair from heat damage.

Vanessa, Social Media Associate

Hair Type: Dry, coily curls
The Oil Rx: Ojon rare blend™ oil Total Hair Therapy, a cure-all that combines restorative Ojon oil with six other oils to meet the needs of dull, dry, and frizzy hair.
The Verdict: “I tried the oil after I washed my hair, and the first thing I noticed was the delicious scent,” says Vanessa. “I said out loud alone in my room "OMG this smells like heaven!" Fragrance aside, she was happy with how the oil affected her curls’ texture. “There were no sticky, oily aftereffects, and my hair was soft to the touch with almost no frizz at all.”
