We've long looked to our elders for sartorial inspiration, and not just because "geezer style" has been the toast of the #menswear community for a minute. It's because older gentlemen, by virtue of their years, have seen the trends come and go. And they've earned wisdom that comes from watching that ebb and flow. In few places is this wisdom more on display than the photography of Fashion Grandpas. The gents pictured here embody one of our favorite style maxims, first uttered by Gore Vidal: "Style is knowing who you are, what you want to say, and not giving a damn."
However, for the younger set still intent on giving a damn, we've compiled a few lessons to take away from these photos:
2. Brown and blue is a peerless combo.
3. Windowpane and stripes pair well together, so long as you supply the requisite attitude.
4. Scarves aren't just for wintertime.
5. You can wear a blue blazer and gray pants everyday for the rest of your life.
