After returning from a two-week Caribbean vacation, my hair was so frizzy and dry that whenever I brushed it, I often saw breakage. Even after just a few days of using the oil, I can say my hair improved—and I didn’t even have to apply a hair mask. The oil doesn’t weigh down my hair, and it feels so soft. The first morning after I used it, my hair still looked soft and manageable.
All I need to do is put three drops in the palm of my hand after my shower and rub it through my hair, roots to ends. I wrap my hair in a towel to let the warmth and humidity do its thing in helping my hair absorb the serum. When I’m done doing my makeup, I style and go. It doesn’t weigh down my curls, and it makes my hair super soft. Love!
One thing I love about these oils is their multipurpose functions. They can act as a leave-in conditioner, styling product, UV and heat blocker, and more. And a little dab will do ya! I may have curly/wavy hair, but it’s thin, so it doesn’t take much to drag it down or make it look greasy. My one pump before and after styling left me with soft curls and no nasty side effects. And this stuff smells really good.
My hair before Protect & Oil: frizzy, messy, and just meh. My hair after Protect & Oil? Such a major difference. My hair was shiny, and the oil did not make my hair feel weighed down or oily. It has a nice scent to it. Kinda vanilla sugary, maybe coconut. It was definitely nice. I’ll be trying my flat iron out after I use this oil. I am also looking forward to using this product for another beachy summer. Thumbs up, Beauty Protector! I’m hooked.
When I applied the serum after washing my hair at night, I couldn't immediately see or feel a difference (wet hair is wet hair, am I right?), so I waited until the next morning to look at the product's effect. While there was definitely a noticeable shine, what struck me is that my hair was wavier than usual. My hair looked natural, but in a really pretty way. This also meant that I didn't have to spend much time styling it in the morning!
The first thing I noticed when I used it was the fragrance of the oil. It reminds me of cotton candy! Sugary and sweet. I've only been able to use this product twice since receiving it, but I can already see the difference it makes on my hair. Usually, when I let my hair air dry, it's superfrizzy by the time it has dried. When my hair was still damp from my shower, I used two pumps (I have long hair) of this Protect & Oil and distributed it evenly throughout my hair. When my hair finally dried (it usually takes a while!), I could see the difference right away! It wasn't as frizzy any more and the ends didn't look as bad.
Unlike a lot of other hair oils I've seen on the market, this one has a pump, so it's pretty easy to get the small amount you need. It also smells amazing, very sweet and vanilla-ish, and the texture is like a gel and oil mixed together. My hair tends to get weighed down by product pretty easily so I only used one pump and had no issues. It made my hair softer and cut down slightly on frizz.
I have been using it the past few days and have really noticed a difference in my hair. I have been following the instructions and use just a few drops in my wet hair before styling. My hair has never been softer or shinier. I have been wearing my hair straight, which is something I rarely do because straight enhances the dry frizz! Even though it’s an oil, it’s not overly greasy and does not weigh my hair down. I myself have fine, color treated hair. If you want to give your hair some added shine without weighing it down, this might be for you.
With two completely different types of hair (Lauren’s being brunette, long, and thick, and Karen’s being auburn, shoulder-length, and more fine), we couldn’t wait to try it and check the results for ourselves. We applied the recommended amount of one to three drops (one drop for Karen and three drops for Lauren) to our damp hair. The results for both of us were amazing! After drying and styling, our hair felt sleek, luscious and full of life. It left a radiant shine that was not heavy or greasy in any way and left a sexy, fresh scent.
Day 1: Used after I towel dried my hair. Pumped about 3 drops into my roots and worked the product down my strands (my hair is just below the shoulders). Left my hair feeling smooth and made my straightener (since the product protects against heat) glide through my hair. Couldn't really tell if there was a shine on the 1st day—more just softness and smelling wonderful!
Day 2: Same routine. Left my hair feeling smooth again and easy to curl. A little bit of a shine!
