3 No-Fuss Summer Makeup Looks to Try

Popsicle Stained Lips

You know that pretty red tint a cherry popsicle leaves behind on your lips that lingers long after your last lick? Sure, we're all for any excuse to enjoy a frozen treat, but Avendao recommends recreating the look using a red lipstick and a tissue. Apply your red lipstick of choice using a dabbing motion working your way around your entire pout. Once your lips are coated, use a tissue to blot off excess product. Repeat until you have the desired amount of color payoff, says Avendao. This leaves a subtly stained finish that adds a pop of color, minus the actual pop. To achieve this look, we like Benefit Cosmetics Punch Pop! Liquid Lip Color for its nourishing formula, easy application, and vibrant tropical hue.

Fresh, Glowing Skin

During the dog days of summer makeup meltdowns can be hard to avoid. While you obviously dont want your base dripping down your face, embracing a more dewy (read: not flat) complexion is a great way to switch up your look. To give your skin a first class glow, Avendao suggests starting with a thin coat of whatever lightweight foundation, BB or CC cream you prefer. We like Marcelle City Multi-Protection Tinted Cream SPF 25, which helps protect against environmental stressors, while reducing the appearance of pores, and boosting your skins overall radiance. After applying your base of choice, dab a multipurpose balm like Kopari Coconut Balm onto the high points of your face using your ring finger, until youre left with a subtle sheen, says Avendao. If you want even more glow, swap the balm for a liquid illuminator. We like MAC Cosmetics Strobe Cream, which gives skin a soft, luminous sheen. Adding the liquid highlighter amps thing up (just a bit) without leaving your complexion intensely shiny or shimmery.

Glossy Lids

While we love a sultry smoky eye just as much as the next gal, it can feel a bit too heavy during the summer. Enter: gleaming, glossy lids. For a simple glossy eye, Avendao suggests prepping your eyelids with an eyeshadow primer, then following it up with a cream shadow to give it longer lasting power. We like Smashbox Cosmetics 24 Hour Photo Finish Shadow Primer, which prevents your eyeshadow from smudging, creasing, and budging throughout the day. Using your ring finger (this is the most gentle finger to use on the delicate skin on and around your eyes), apply a small amount of cream eyeshadow and blend it across your entire eyelid, says Avendao. We love rms beauty cream eye polish, which nourishes lids with coconut and shea butter, while leaving behind a light-reflecting metallic sheen.
