5 Out-of-the-Box Bachelorette Party Ideas

We’ve been planning our dream weddings since we were five years old. So it’s no surprise that we can’t get enough of, a wedding inspiration site that lets you search through pics of swoon-worthy gowns, bouquets, and everything else you need for the big day. Twice a month, the ladies behind will be sharing their best tips for getting through the craziness of the season—whether you’re standing at the altar or enjoying a view of it from the audience.

Just because it's your last girls' night out as a (sort of) single lady doesn’t mean you have to spend it Magic Mike-style. Your bachelorette party should be a time to celebrate your upcoming nuptials with your best friends—in a way that makes you feel totally comfortable. So if the traditional wild night isn't your thing, read on for five other ideas you can try instead.

1. Brunch and Shop

Start the day off with brunch and then head to to your favorite block of stores (or that big, fancy mall a few towns over) for some shopping. Have friends help you pick outfits for your honeymoon or for life as a newlywed. If you're a vintage-loving bride, take a morning trip to the flea market or antique store; have your host ask each guest to bring $15 and hold a contest for the best vintage find for the guest of honor. Then, finish off your treasure hunt with a lavish lunch.

2. Throw a Sleepover

If you're looking to have a relaxing weekend without leaving home, plan a staycation with your girls. Have a sleepover at your place, middle-school style (but with champagne). Provide sweets, snacks, and nail polish for all the attendees. (For an extra-special touch, hire a hair stylist to teach everyone to do on-trend braids or a manicurist who specializes in nail art!) Order yummy takeout and don't forget the board games and chick flicks!

3. Work Out, Then Relax

For the fitness-loving bride, plan to attend a cardio barre, yoga, or spin class with your girls. Grab lunch after at that farm-to-table spot you've been wanting to try, and then head over to your local spa for manis, pedis, and facials.

4.Try Something New

Whether you're interested in learning to cook or you want to test your artistic abilities over a glass of wine, taking a class is the perfect party plan. Not only will you have so much fun learning a new skill, it’s also an inexpensive way to spend the day together. (And if you don't hate the idea of a strip club, you could do a party through The Artful Bachelorette, which includes drinks, drawing, and, um, a nude model.)

5. Get Outta’ Town

Who says your bachelorette party can only last for one night? Plan a road trip with friends to the beach or the mountains and enjoy drinks and girl talk around the campfire all weekend long. Note: if you do plan a trip, try to be considerate of your friends' budgets—opt for an inexpensive cabin and plan to cook (and drink!) at home as much as possible. While all of your ‘maids and friends might not be able to attend, enjoy your time with the friends that are able to make the journey.
