Birchbox Presents: The Whiskey-Soaked Milkshake

We love a good bourbon. We also love milkshakes. Therefore, common sense demands that we mix them both together. To celebrate spring with a boozy pick-me-up, here’s a simple take on this warm-weather classic.


2 large scoops vanilla ice cream (the thicker the better)
2-4 Tbsp. bourbon
2 Tbsp. milk
½ tsp. vanilla extract


1. In a blender, combine the ice cream (don’t be stingy) with the milk and vanilla extract.

2. Blend on low for 10-15 seconds, until the mixture appears smooth and creamy.

3. Add bourbon to taste. Save your best liquor for a rocks glass—a solid staple like Buffalo Trace should suit your needs just fine.

4. Drink in good health, and share if desired.
